1 day intro to Textiles in Guatemala
If you’re new to Guatemala or new to artisan made goods, this is the perfect 1 day sourcing trip for you. Our first stop is at our showroom where we give you a brief education on the many textile techniques available in Guatemala and to show you the types of products we can make. Next, we visit a local floor loom workshop where the artisans explain every step of floor loom weaving and demonstrate various techniques. Then, we take you to San Antonio Aguas Calientes to visit the home of a backstrap weaver who demonstrates the ancient craft of backstrap weaving. Finally, we go to our favorite sewing workshop so you can meet Irma who specializes in working with handwoven textiles.

4 DAY sourcing trip : for retainer clients
Via our monthly retainer model, clients are able to curate their own sourcing trip to visit the artisan communities that will produce their products. The goal of the sourcing trips for our clients is to build a deeper connection to the artisans they work with and to align on any samples that are in development.
The standard trip starts in Guatemala city where we visit the Museo Ixchel together. From there, we visit Antigua, Guatemala where we learn more about traditional textiles at the artisan market and in our show room.
We then travel to Lake Atitlan to visit a floor loom workshop and a natural dye cooperative.
Finally, we travel to a community specializing in backstrap weaving.
